Police Scotland is investigating plans for high-tech headsets that could enable facial recognition, instant language translation and even lip-reading. The AR headsets would also display information such as current local crime and warn officers of threats such as the presence of firearms. The Scottish Police Authority (SPA) has already approved £400 million plans for a related “Digital Division” to combat cybercrime.
