In case you were wondering: The VR hit Beat Saber is still in development for Playstation VR 2.

Beat Games confirmed yesterday via Twitter that they are still working on the PSVR 2 version of the game, but are not ready to announce a release date yet. “Stay tuned, we can’t wait to share more,” the studio writes.

Sony announced Beat Saber on January 5, 2023 at CES. Since then, nothing has been heard about the PSVR 2 version.

The release of the most successful VR game would certainly help the platform. According to first estimates from market researchers, Playstation VR 2 is selling sluggishly.

The Czech studio behind Beat Saber was acquired by Meta in 2019, and for quite some time, it was unclear whether the VR game would be released for Sony’s new VR headset at all.

New content for fans of Panic! At The Disco

Beat Games announced new content for Beat Saber yesterday: The Panic! At The Disco music pack from 2019 has been expanded by six songsbringing the total number of tracks to ten.

The new songs are from the albums Pray for the Wicked (2018) and Viva Las Vengeance (2022).

The beat maps and environments of the old songs have been updated to support the new Arc and Chain notes and lighting introduced in 2022.

Here’s an overview of all tracks:

Old:

  • Emperor’s New Clothes
  • High Hopes
  • The Greatest Show
  • Victorious

New:

  • Hey Look Ma, I Made It
  • Say Amen (Saturday Night)
  • Viva Las Vengeance
  • Dancing’s Not A Crime
  • Sugar Soaker
  • Crazy = Genius

The new tracks can be purchased as a bundle or individually. The update was released yesterday on all platforms that support Beat Saber, including Meta Quest, Rift, Steam and Playstation VR 1.
